Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we
profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may
spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting
together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another -
and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Frequently Asked
Questions:
What exactly is a Life Group?
A Life Group is a group of
about 8 to 14 people that meet once a week to encourage one another in their
walk with God. The meetings are a time to learn, grow, and serve together.
These groups meet in homes throughout the Madison area and typically consist of
Bible Study, fellowship and prayer. They usually last about 2 hours.
Why be a part of a Life
Group?
The power of connecting with
others and with God can be life changing. To meet someone new, nice and be
acquaintances is one thing. It is another to develop a friendship that survives
the hard times in life, rejoices in the good times, and provides caring
support. In a Life Group, you will find a place where you can be yourself – A
place where you can be honest and real. You will find a group of friends that
are committed to you and your personal and spiritual growth.
When are Life Group meetings
held?
This fall, all our Life Groups will meet on Sunday Night
from 5 - 7 PM. Groups begin on August 17th and will go through November.
Please click on the "Schedule" tab above.
How do I get involved?
Just show up! Or if you prefer, you can contact the
leader and/or host beforehand. Information on our groups can be found
through the "Available Groups" tab above or on the board in the foyer at church.
These include information about the group, the leader, and where the groups
meets. We recommend that you choose a Life Group based on your interests
and station in life, rather than its physical location. Life Groups do
best when members have things in common with other group members. Except
for a few specialized groups, all groups are open to any and everyone would love
to have you join them.
What about the kids?
During Sunday Night Life Groups, the following activities are
available at The Brook from
4:45 - 7:00 PM: TeamKiddie
(Birth - 2 yrs) and Awana's (children who are 3 by September 1st
– 6th Grades).
Life Groups are for adults to be able to spend time
together relatively uninterrupted. We do request that children are picked up by
7:00 PM on Sundays at The Brook. If you have any questions regarding
children’s activities, please contact Mary Agalsoff at mary@thebrookchurch.com.
